AGNITY launches Online Charging System for real-time rating and charging
The OCS solution FlexYcharge 2.0 provides convergent charging and rating for next generation networks
SILICON VALLEY – May 21, 2012 – AGNITY, the global application solutions and technology services innovator, announced the launch of ACONYX FlexYcharge 2.0, an Online Charging System (OCS). ACONYX FlexYcharge 2.0 enables real-time convergent charging and rating for any combination of services or subscriber types over next generation networks. It is particularly useful for carriers and operators providing multiple services in a multi-network scenario.
Using the solution, service providers can get a unified view of the customer for positioning the right services to the right customers on one hand. On the other hand, FlexYcharge also makes it possible to bundle these right services in a single hybrid package with multiple rate plans. It places unprecedented personalization potential in the hands of marketing and product management teams while subscribers benefit from the flexibility of getting the right services in a single bundled package.
“Online Charging is not a nascent concept; it has evolved over time in tune with the market need. We are delighted to present ACONYX FlexYcharge 2.0 which will transform the way service providers view, approach and service their customers” expressed Sanjeev Chawla, President & CEO of AGNITY Inc. He added, “Till date, most service providers keep their prepaid and postpaid subscriber bases separate maintaining different solutions for them. As a result, they never get a unified view of a customer who, for example, subscribed to postpaid voice and prepaid data plans. The FlexYcharge OCS solution unravels the tangle comprehensively by empowering operators to create new services combining multiple rating rules in the system independently at various levels.”
“Through our Online Charging Server, we plan to enable true Convergent Billing for our customers. The OCS encompasses both event-based charging and session-based charging. This meets the charging criteria for both voice and data services, and for the bearing, subsystem, and application layers in a 3GPP architecture. It is indeed fascinating to estimate benefits from a true convergent platform able to handle all complexities from prepaid to postpaid, from voice to content, from fixed line to mobile across legacy and next generation networks,” shared Uday Choudhury, VP Product Management of AGNITY Inc.
This new solution has been based on the OCS guidelines described in the 3GPP Technical Specification 32.296 and in accordance with other 3GPP technical specifications for rating and charging. Developed on the carrier grade ACONYX Communications Application Server (CAS) platform, ACONYX FlexYcharge 2.0 is a landmark upgrade to its multi-network multi-service prepaid and credit control postpaid application. With gradual adaptation of LTE as part of the network infrastructure, as well as the demand for online charging of a new breed of OTT applications, the timing of this product release is a win-win for AGNITY and its global customers.
The ACONYX FlexYcharge 2.0 OCS solution is currently in advanced stages of deployment with two major carriers in the Caribbean and Latin America region.
