SPIDYR Phone can be configured to support Instant Messaging and Mobile IM with or without presence capabilities. The SPIDYR Phone lets users store, edit and delete contact email addresses, phone numbers and SIP addresses. Users who are logged in also can be notified of the status of other users through presence enablement. The platform also provides presence interoperability between existing IM gateways like MSN, Skype and Google Talk.

When SPIDYR Phone users are not logged in to receive calls, the Client can be configured to receive voice and video mails. Notifications for these are received via email and can be picked up either from the client page, or in an email from which they can also be downloaded. Mail also can be embedded in other websites or forwarded by way of a link, while video mail can be configured for both mobile and desktop applications.
